How To Use These Valentine’s Day Color Your Own Memory Cards
With simple drawings, the user gets to color in all types of love and friendship themed images before using cutting and glueing skills.
1. Color the memory cards as creativitly as you prefer.
2. Cut out each square.
3. Glue each square to a piece of cardstock or construction paper to ensure you cannot see the markings on the back of the square when it’s flipped over for actual game play.
3. Cut out the squares out of the cardstock.
4. Play memory!
If you plan to use your memory cards again and again, I would highly recommend laminating them. Then you don’t have to worry about them getting ruined year to year or class to class.
The kids absolutely loved this activity and spent a good deal of time debating who would get to color in which page.
I prefer having them color the pages as a whole 8.5×11 sheet before cutting them out. For little hands, they have more control over the larger sheet of paper than the smaller ones.
Together, we cut out the squares, glued, and cut again. It was a wonderful way to spend time together around the table doing a communal project.
When it was actual game time, the kids were just thrilled to play and got to really see what each of them colored.

When I talk about this being a multiple skill printable, I truly mean it. Here are just a few of the skills that the kids get to practice in these Valentine’s Day Color Your Own Memory Cards:
- Fine motor skills / dexterity from both coloring and flipping the cards over
- Matching
