Color Your Own St Patricks Day Memory Pin 1

It is no lie when I tell you that the second my 7 year old saw these printed pages on my desk in the morning, she immediately asked what they were and if she could color them.

When I told her yes and that it was a memory game, she was extremely excited and ready to take action.

Cue a full 45 minutes of all three kids sitting at the table discussing which images each one got to do, lots of coloring, discussions, and me getting to clean the kitchen

It is what keeping-the-kids-busy-and-happy-while-I-am-in-the-mix dreams are made of.

How To Prepare Your Cards

These cards work exactly like regular memory, except before you play, you get to color! Then, you have some optional, but highly recommended, prep work to do

To set up the game:

1. Print the memory card pages. There are 24 total pairs spread over 4 pages.

2. Color in the cards before you cut them. Coloring on a full sheet is much easier than coloring on small squares, so doing that work before you cut will make everyone less frustrated. These twistable colored pencils are easy to use and don’t need a sharpener.

3. Cut out the cards. You can let your child practice their cutting here, or you can do it yourself.

4. Glue the cards to some construction paper, or card stock, squares. This prevents seeing the coloring on the back of the page when you go to play memory. Gluing is another great skill for kids to practice!

3. Optional, but highly recommended: Laminate your cards. I adore my laminator that I have had for years!
