Make ringing in the New Year special for the whole family as you make memories together in this printable kid-friendly New Year’s Charades game. Learning physical movements and practicing patience, you will be laughing, learning, and moving.
I am always looking for ways to make holidays a little extra special for the kids. I figure we have a finite amount of time to make magic for them, and I am all about creating those special memories.
Having young kids during New Years can often feel a little lackluster since the holiday is normally celebrated with late nights out, loud parties, and lots of cocktails. Long gone are the days of all three of these things for me, but I still want to celebrate.
With this kid-friendly New Year’s Charades game, you can gather together to play and make some silly memories. The kids will love moving their bodies in creative and new ways as they try to physically act out each movement card.
New Year’s Charades Skills
Not only do I love playing charades with children because it teaches them body control, but it also lets them be creative, express patience, and practice vocabulary. Both the person doing the actions and the person guessing are learning multiple skills through the game.

How To Play
Setting up charades is super simple as the whole nature of the game requires no equipment. All you need to do is print your New Year’s Charades cards and cut them out. I recommend you laminate them so you can use them again and not have to worry about wet or sticky fingers.
To play:
1. Lay the cards face down on a table or put them in a bowl.
2.The first person picks one card without showing anyone else.
3. The person acts out the card without words. The rest of the players have to guess what the card says through the person’s actions.
You can even choose to play in teams, which I recommend for older kids. You can even set a timer for how long one team has to guess the action.
