Easter Color Your Own Memory Pin 2

I’m a little in love with these color your own memory cards.

We have a few different versions of them around here, and I just want to make them for absolutely every holiday, theme, and occasion I can think of.

You can make the Color Your Own Easter Memory Cards as easy or as skill-building as you want for you and your kids. I absolutely adore making it a multi-day project that involves coloring, cutting, gluing, and matching practice all rolled in to one printable.

The conversations around the table while the kids color, the concentration while they practice scissor skills, and the lessons learned while gluing are all so valuable. Plus I get a front row seat to those learning pathways being made in their little brains.

How To Prepare Your Easter Game Cards

The memory game itself is just like regular memory, except there is a bit of prep work before you can play.

Don’t think of this prep work as “prep” really for you to do on your own, but as an additiona benefit to the game itself because the kids can take true ownership over the process and the cards.

To set up the game:

1. Print the memory card pages, which inclue 24 pairs spread over 4 pages.

2. Color in the pages before you cut them into cards. It is so much simpler for little hands to color in the images when they are on the full sheet rather than already cut into squares.

3. Cut out the cards. This is a good time to practice scissor skills, or you can cut them yourself.

4. Glue the cards to construction paper, or card stock, to give them a backing. This ensures you cannot see through the backs of the cards when you flip them over to play Memory.

3. Optional, but highly recommended: Laminate your cards. This is the laminator I use and love.
