4th of July Color Your Own Memory Pin 1

It’s one of those heart-warming moments that makes you just smile and count all your blessings when you have your kids around the table, all working together for a collective goal.

The creativity, little conversations, and joy that abounds from one simple printable is one that I will always be fond of.

That’s exactly what happened when I handed my kids these 4th of July Color Your Own Memory Cards. They split up the pages among the three of them, started coloring with concentration, and then all jumping in to practice their cutting and gluing.

How To Use This 4th of July Color Your Own Memory Cards

You can use your 4th of July Color Your Own Memory Cards free printable all in one go, or over the span of a few days. The steps for this memory game breaks down like this:

1. Color the memory cards. This is when the kids (and you!) can get really creative!

2. Cut the squares out and glue them to a piece of construction paper or cardstock. This ensures you cannot see the coloring marks through the back of the page.

3. Cut out the squares that you glued to the cardstock. You are ready to play!

You could laminate your memory cards if you prefer. This is the upgraded version of the laminator I have had for years and just love.

How To Play 4th of July Memory

Once colored, glued, and cut, you play 4th of July Color Your Own Memory the same way as a regular memory game.

1. Place all the cards facedown in a grid.

2. Player 1 flips over two cards to see if they match. If they match, Player 1 keeps them and flips again. If they don’t match, Player 1 flips them back over.

3. Player 2 flips over two cards and follows the same rules.

4. Continue taking turns flipping and matching until all cards are matched. The person with the most matches wins the game!

This is a simple game that all ages can join in on.
